It was really hard to choose the first item ever to feature in this section. There are so many natural products which I use every day such as Rosewater and Mature Skin Moisrutiser that I didn't quite know where to start. However, as fragrances and their effects on health feature in the Topic of the Month section I thought I would continue with the theme and make the Aromastone the Product of the Month.
Traditionally crafted in glazed ceramic, the Aromastone is the clean, safe and effective way of vaporising essential oils without the use of a naked flame. It couldn't be simpler to use, just plug it in, add a few drops of your chosen oil to the warming stone and away you go. No soot and no difficult cleaning required. The temperature of the Aromastone is regulated which extends vaporisation times to many hours and makes the most efficient use of your oils.
In the 15 years or so I have had mine it has been used in every room in the house for one purpose or another. When my daughter was a baby I used it to fragrance her room and eliminate nursery smells. In the evenings I vaporised lavender and chamomile oils to calm her and help her get a good night's sleep. In the wintertime I vaporise anti-viral oils such as lemon and eucalyptus to ward off colds and flu and in the summertime I burn citronella and lemongrass to keep flies out of the kitchen. In my office the Aromastone is used practically everyday, with uplifting oils if I need a bit of a boost, oils such as rosemary to aid concentration or just some lovely fragrances — whatever suits my mood at the time.
Manufactured in the UK and pacakged in a recycled cardboard box, the Aromastone makes an excellent gift for anyone interested in banishing artificial fragrances from their homes.
