“Homeopathy is a safe and gentle form of medicine based on sound scientific principles. Tried and tested for over 200 years, it is one of the most widely practised complementary therapies in the world today. Homeopathic treatment is effective for all ages and works by gently stimulating the body to heal itself.”
- How does homeopathy work ?
Homeopathy treats each patient as an individual. After a thorough initial consultation a homeopathic remedy is prescribed to stimulate the body to begin its own natural healing process.
The body shows it is out of balance through the appearance of symptoms of disease. A trained homeopath assesses these symptoms and chooses the remedy which most closely resembles them. The body then uses this natural stimulus to invoke its own healing mechanism to promote and restore a greater level of health and vitality.
- Is homeopathy safe for everyone ?
Yes. Homeopathy can be used by the old and young alike and is safe and effective even during pregnancy.
- Which complaints can be treated homeopathically ?
Homeopathy is suitable for all complaints both acute and chronic.
- How long does treatment take ?
This very much depends on the individual and the severity of their disease. There is no definitive answer here but always allow for the initial consultation and one follow-up appointment before assessing progress.
Some patients seek treatment to clear up one particular condition whilst others see homeopathy as a lifestyle choice and after the initial treatment continue with regular appointments every 3-4 months to help boost their immunity on an on-going basis.
- How much does treatment cost ?
See appointments and charges.
- Can homeopathy work alongside conventional treatment from my GP ?
Yes. Homeopathy does not conflict or interfere with conventional medicine or medication. It is good practice to maintain a relationship with your GP and long-term conventional medication should not be stopped without their knowledge or professional advice.
I am a graduate of The Allen College of Homeopathy and a registered member of the Society of Homeopaths (RSHom). I carry full insurance, abide by the Society’s Code of ethics and undertake Continuous Professional Development.
My initial interest in homeopathy was sparked during my time working in the wine trade. Having visited many different vineyard regions around the world I became fascinated by biodynamic wine production — a system which follows organic principles and other natural practices but is very much based on a ‘less is more’ approach. Only minute amounts of fertiliser are permitted for use in the vineyards, and this in effect equates to a homeopathic treatment of the soil. It is believed that the key to disease resistant vines and the production of healthy grapes rests firmly in the management and nurturing of the ground in which they grow. The quality of wines produced by these methods is outstanding.
Homeopathy adheres to these same principles — nurture the ‘soil’, the physical and emotional body, through sound diet, exercise and a healthy lifestyle and disease will not be able to take a hold. When the body becomes under stress and disease symptoms appear then these are treated by applying a minute amount of stimulus (the homeopathic remedy) to rebalance the system and restore health.
I offer homeopathic treatment and workshops and courses on natural living.

The initial homeopathic consultation lasts for approximately 1½ - 1¾ hours during which time a full case history is taken. This includes all aspects of the patient’s life from their physical symptoms, emotions and outlook to the foods they like to eat. A remedy is then selected which best covers their symptoms and constitution. The cost of the prescribed medicine is included in the consultation fee.
Subsequent appointments usually follow every 6 weeks or so and last for around 45 minutes. These are used to assess progress and decide on a continuing course of treatment.
*All times are approximate
Support between appointments is available and included in the consultation fees. However, additional remedies prescribed at these times will be charged at £10 per prescription including postage and packaging.
Occasionally creams, tinctures or lotions may be required in addition to the prescribed homeopathic remedy. The requirements for these and their costs (usually around £5) are fully discussed with the patient before dispensing.
The cost of treatment can be recovered in full or part through some healthcare providers such as HSA. Contact them directly for details and please note that I do not receive payment, commission or incentives for recommending their services.
